When are you open throughout the year?
We are open 52 weeks a year, only closing for public holidays and weekends.
What do I need to bring to Being?
There are a few things your child will need to bring with them to Being every day so we made a list to make it easier to remember everything.
Please make sure to label everything with your child’s name so that it isn’t misplaced!
- The most important thing to remember is a big happy smile 😁 (don’t worry too much if you forget this one sometimes, your educators will make sure to help you find it if you do)
- A hat that provides adequate sun protection such as a bucket or legionnaire style hat (no caps please) without strings as they are a choking hazard
- A water bottle; preferably one that your child can use unassisted (except for infants who we understand will need help)
- A bag stocked with all the things your child might need during their busy days of growing and learning at Being; such as spare clothes, spare underwear (if applicable) and spare socks (please take home each day and re-stock as needed)
- A reusable wet bag is helpful for anything that gets dirty or wet; as it makes it easier for families to transport these items home for cleaning and helps us reduce our environmental impact by reducing the amount of single-use plastic we use at the centre
- If your child has sensitive skin please bring along sunscreen of your own that is labelled with your child’s name and ensure it is handed to educators directly; please do NOT leave sunscreen in your child’s bag (otherwise, we have plenty at the centre to use)
- Sleep and rest items are also important to remember
- For children in cots, a fitted cot sheet is needed ( if you would like your child to use a sleeping bag/sleep suit please ensure these do not have hoods and if your child is able to turn over and turn back confidently that these are hands-free)
- For older children in beds, just a blanket is needed
- For children in nappies
- Please ensure to give us permission to apply nappy cream upon enrolment and provide us with your own labelled cream as we do not share these between children for health and hygiene reasons (please ensure the cream you provide us does not contain any nut products)
- Though we provide all nappies we understand if you would like to use a different brand from the one we provide, if so, please bring them in for us to store at the centre for use
- For children that have milk bottles please ensure that you bring the right number of bottles for the number of feeds required throughout the day, all milk bottles MUST have lids or we cannot use the bottle
- Comfort items (including dummies/pacifiers/soothers) are welcome but need to be free of strings/chains or other choking hazards
- Medication
- Any medication prescribed in the child’s action plan must be provided to the centre, please ensure medication has a pharmacy label addressed to your child (this includes over-the-counter medications) ensure that you hand medication directly to a responsible person; please do NOT leave medication in your child’s bag
How do I enter the Ermington River Road centre?
There are a few things you should be aware of when visiting us for the first time
-
If using the centre’s driveway please only use the circular section closest to the road, entering on the left and exiting on the right; there is no parking permitted for families beside or behind the front residence as manoeuvring in and out of this space can be dangerous (please refer to the diagram below for more information)
